Oman Project Overview
What We Do
We promote, develop, finance, and operate intelligent transportation systems to improve freight transportation starting at the gates of port terminals and radiating inland. Our systems synchronize and streamline vehicle movements to optimize thru-put at port terminals. industrial estates, and similar facilities to improve freight transport productivity.
Our systems combine process redesign with an integrated software platform for the port operators and truck dispatchers, truck marshaling yards, terminal capacity controls, automated and staffed checkpoints, data validation, artificial intelligence, and routing algorithms. This allows us to organize the activities of multiple, independent stakeholders (including port operations, truckers, dispatchers and trucking companies, and myriad government entities) into an integrated solution that follows known rules, treats all participants fairly and transparently, and increases efficiency and productivity for all stakeholders.
Our systems improve facility performance, reduce truck waiting time, magnify visibility, and minimize road congestion.
We work with local partners to create companies that implement these projects under long-term agreements. Since our founding we have followed socially responsible practices and have been recognized globally for our pursuit of gender equality.
System Benefits
Projects
We operate projects via affiliates in Jordan and Iraq, and Oman.
Global Recognition
In Oman’s industrial development plan announced in January 2021 our project “represents a key pillar of the infrastructure development strategy of the industrial cities to keep pace with the technology trends and provide value-adding services.”
The World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) highlighted our "success in changing the systems, services, and culture of Iraq's ports" in its review of our work at Iraq's Umm Qasr port, which they estimated "positively impacted about 19,250 people in Iraq."
The Financial Times (London) awarded Nafith International a Special Commendation for our Iraq system at their 2017 Transformational Business Conference, which focused on innovative infrastructure impacting the developing world.
Nafith International's CEO was selected in March 2017 to serve as a Commissioner of the State Fragility, Growth and Development Commission chaired by former UK Prime Minister David Cameron and funded by the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics. The commission's goal is to advance economic growth in countries facing fragility and conflict.
Our Mideast subsidiary, Nafith International, received the 2016 Gender Equality award from World Bank Group, citing our success at "integrating women staff in the logistics industry in Iraq."
NTELX International and Nafith International were cited in 2015 Congressional testimony for the Aqaba Truck Control System, which "...cut inefficiency and corruption and saved the Jordan economy about $100 million a year..."
We received the 2009 award from the Intelligent Transportation Society of America for the most innovative and effective use of advanced technology in surface transportation.
More Information
We have been operating internationally since 2005. NTELX International became an independent company during 2014 when NTELX, Inc. split its operations into two separate companies.
